Katha with Kalakaar as the name suggests is an initiative where we get an opportunity to interact with the artists who have given their life to art. This is a chance for us to witness their journey, their struggles and achievements. The legendary artist we have with us today for our second episode is Padmashree Guru Smt Kumkum Mohanty who needs no introduction in the Odissi industry. And we also have her senior disciple, Dr. Anisha Anukampa and Lucky Prajna Pratishtita Mohanty. 

Padmashree Guru Smt. Kumkum Mohanty joined allied service (Indian Postal Service) established the Odissi Research Centre, a Govt. of Orissa Autonomous body under the chairmanship of chief Minister. I retired as Director, special project (Culture) and Ex-Officio Special Secretary, Department of Culture, Govt of Orissa. Participated in all the prestigious Dance Festival in India and abroad also participated in all the prestigious Music Conferences and dance festivals till 2004. Performed in the Cultural Festival of India in Parish in 1987. She is a proud disciple of the Great Guru, Padma Bhusana guru Sri Kelucharan Mohapatra. She received State Sangeet Natak Academy Award, Central Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Award of Padmashree in 2005. She also received Kalidas Samman from Madhya Pradesh Govt-2015, best teacher Award from I.I.T BBS -2017 and Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja-2021. Using the vocabulary and kinetic phraseology, she is writing the third volume as how to write the Pallavis (Pure Dance) in an algebraic formula. She has established her own institute of Odissi Dance, Choreography and Music called “Geeta Govinda”. She is also actively associated in teaching at Kala Vikash Kendra the premier institute of Odissi dance of Cuttack, Orissa.

Dine Dine Chaturi, Preme hoi Aturi was performed by Dr. Anisha Anukampa. 

Dine Dine Chaturi....... Preme hoi Aturi Choreographed by Padmshree Guru Kumkum Mohanty. Music composition by Harmohan Khuntia. It is a part of an Odia Chhanda writtem by famous Odia poet Abhimanyu Samantasinghar which depicts the divine love of Radhakrishna, where the young Radha is mad in the love of Lord Krishna and conveys her emotions to Sakhis.
